Two new rules were approved by the Board
for immediate implementation. One of them gives an automatic one game
suspension to any player that is ejected from a game. The second new rule is
one that will make the play faster around the nets. The new rule assigns a delay
penalty to a goalie who is caught freezing the ball “through” the net. This is
a behavior that has proliferated over the years in the Burlington league but that
has not been as common in the Barre-Montpelier league. This new rule will thus
be more of an adaptation for the Burlington League goalies. The game rules book
has been updated to reflect these changes. |
