TWO NEW RULES NOW IN EFFECT

Two new rules were approved by the Board for immediate implementation. One of them gives an automatic one game suspension to any player that is ejected from a game.

The second new rule is one that will make the play faster around the nets. The new rule assigns a delay penalty to a goalie who is caught freezing the ball “through” the net. This is a behavior that has proliferated over the years in the Burlington league but that has not been as common in the Barre-Montpelier league. This new rule will thus be more of an adaptation for the Burlington League goalies.

The game rules book has been updated to reflect these changes.
